Unfortunately for OnePlus, last year saw the release of OxygenOS 12, which was based on Android 12. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro’s first software update was cancelled only days after its debut due to widespread bugs. What’s more, it took months for the corporation to resolve all the difficulties and roll out the OS to its other devices. However, things have changed this year, with OnePlus upgrading its 2022 flagship phone to Android 13 before of Samsung. Since then, we’ve seen updates for the OnePlus 9 series and the OnePlus 10T to bring them up to speed with the most recent version of Android. The budget-friendly Nord CE 2 Lite is the latest device to get Android 13.
As a result, the CE 2 Lite is the first OnePlus Nord device to get the stable Android 13 update. The stable OxygenOS 13 upgrade has been reported by many users of the Nord CE 2 Lite, however BBK-owned OnePlus has not made a formal declaration regarding the distribution. OnePlus seeded the Android 13 Open Beta for the phone a month before the stable release. The 4.5GB update includes the current version of Android as well as the December 2022 security patch.
The new OnePlus skin has an Aquamorphic design and an improved animation engine, resulting in more fluid transitions. More screenshot editing markup tools, a Sidebar Toolbox, automated conversation screenshot pixelation, and other usability and performance enhancements are also available. Additionally, Android 13 brings a new permission model, a more private picture picker, a language selector for individual apps, and enhanced Material You integration.
OxygenOS 13 for the Nord CE 2 Lite is now available in only India. It’s also being released in waves, so it may take some time to reach your device. As of next week, we anticipate a larger release. To avoid having to wait, you may get the OTA package from XDA and apply the update manually.
