GPU maker put two identical Razer laptops side by side to demonstrate the performance gap. Despite having just a third as much power as the previous GPU, the new Razer Blade x16 with an RTX 4080 and Cyberpunk 2077 completely destroys the 3080 Ti laptop next to it. Wow.
With DLSS and ray tracing enabled, the RTX 4080 can achieve about 77 frames per second at the 50 watt power limit. I’m blown away by that outcome. It’s a great example of the power of Nvidia’s latest Ada Lovelace architecture. Comparatively, the Razer Blade 17’s 3080 Ti graphics card generates 64 frames per second at full power (143 watts). Ung points out that the Razer Blade 17 has a louder fan than the Razer Blade16, a problem shared by many gaming laptops.
A few of the latest laptops in the RTX 40 series are very tiny. Many computers designed for gamers are heavy and cumbersome, often weighing in at approximately six pounds. The Alienware x16, however, is not the case. Ung was also astounded that Gigabyte had packed an RTX 4060 into a 14-inch laptop, much alone an RTX 4090.
