60-minute videos can now be uploaded by Twitter Blue users

Elon Musk, since acquiring control of Twitter, has often stated his intention to make the site more user-friendly for those who want to upload videos. Twitter has now announced on the Twitter Blue website that users may now submit 2GB, 1080p films that are 60 minutes long.

Before the update, Twitter Blue users could share 10-minute videos in 1080p quality with a 512MB file size limit. This limitation still applies even if you’re uploading from an iOS or Android device.

Twitter has said that it will think about how to improve the video before releasing it.

Each and every video that is shared on our site is monitored to ensure it is of the greatest quality. On the other hand, the firm reserves the right to vary your video’s quality and bitrate while streaming dependent on the speed and reliability of the viewer’s internet connection in order to adapt it to various media, as stated on the help page.

Subscribers will not only have more video uploads allowed but also get faster responses. Users would “somewhat prefer” responses from Blue verified accounts, the business stated. This implies that responses from premium accounts will be prioritised. Twitter didn’t go into much detail on how it would deal with users that pay to harass or spam others in exchange for a higher response rate.

After a botched debut in November, Musk and Twitter revived Twitter Blue earlier this month. To cover the cost of the App Store, the business is now charging $11 a month for iOS users and $8 for web subscribers. This week, Twitter also introduced its Blue for Business programme, which provides a way for businesses to distinguish their linked brands and employees with a special square badge.

To begin with, in addition to the Blue verification mark, paying customers get access to lengthier video uploads and priority in answers.
