The 13th Gen Core i9 13900KS from Intel breaks the 6GHz barrier; see price and details

Although Intel’s 13th Generation Core desktop processors were released in September around the globe, they didn’t become available in India until mid-October. This month sees the release of the company’s fastest desktop CPU to date, which, at stock rates, is the first to surpass 6GHz.

Intel’s newest Core i9-13900KS processor shows that the company is prepared to go all in on the CPU race. With its turbo frequency of 6 GHz and no need for overclocking, Intel’s i9-13900KS has been crowned the world’s fastest desktop CPU.

Based on last year’s 13th-gen Core i9 13900K, which almost broke the 6GHz barrier with its 5.8GHz turbo clock, the new Core i9-13900KS is now the fastest desktop CPU available. The updated KS version retails for $699 in the US, which converts to around Rs 56,800 in India.

The CPU is designed for enthusiasts, whether they are professional producers, gamers, or anybody else. With Intel’s performance hybrid architecture, it provides consumers with an unrivalled experience across a wide range of applications, including but not limited to work, gaming, and content creation.

Overcoming the 6-GHz barrier and improving PC gaming performance, the 13900KS is the first CPU to do so without resorting to overclocking. Intel’s Thermal Velocity Boost technology is used for this purpose.

The 13900KS now offers a base power of 150 watts, up from the 13900K’s 125 watts. The KS model’s maximum turbo power is little over 250 watts.

Up from 3GHz on the 13900K, the Performance cores’ new base frequency is 3.2GHz. The new CPU is comparable to the 13900K in all other respects. The new 13900KS central processing unit (CPU) has the same number of cores as its predecessor, 24 (8 Performance + 16 Efficiency). The new CPU features 20 PCIe lanes, 16 of which are PCIe 5 and 4 of which are PCIe 4. It also includes 36MB of Intel Smart Cache.

The new 13900KS is backwards compatible with Z690 motherboards, however for optimal performance with Intel’s flagship desktop CPU, Z790 boards are recommended. To get the most out of their gaming and content production, users will need to make sure they have the most recent BIOS for their motherboards.

The 13900KS can take use of DDR5 RAMs up to 5600 MT/s and DDR4 RAMs up to 3200 MT/s.

If you’re looking to construct your own PC, you can get the Intel Core i9-13900KS at major stores, and it’ll be showing up in OEM devices very soon.
