The Witcher season 2: release date, new characters and what we know

The Witcher season 2 is coming to Netflix – and while the return of the fantasy drama doesn’t have a specific release date yet, we do get to look forward to seeing a raft of new faces in the cast, some of which have appeared in the video games. Queen Meve of Lyria from the Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales has been cast, as well as a voice actor from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Production on The Witcher season 2 has already been impacted by the coronavirus, but it has been troubled again following positive cases on set in November. At least the first two episodes appeared to have completed filming, as Stephen Surjik wrapped up his time directing the show. The tentative release date is still set for 2021, but it may well be to the latter end of the year following unwelcome breaks in filming.
