Upgraded telephoto camera expected for the Samsung Galaxy S24

Not even into 2023, and already there are speculations of a Galaxy S24 with a better camera.

On Twitter, leaker Ice Universe discussed a possible update for the Galaxy S24 line. Their information suggests that the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the next flagship phone from the Korean manufacturer, would include a more advanced telephoto sensor when it is unveiled in 2024. They go on to suggest that a better system to back this up would also be a part of this.

At the end, Ice Universe speculated that the S24 Ultra’s primary shooter could be identical to that of the S23 Ultra.

Despite the fact that we have no new data to work with, we may have a good sense of what this is. At CES 2023, LG Innotek debuted a brand new camera module with optical telephoto zoom. This new module is touted to provide a 4x to 9x zoom, with the added benefit of an OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer) to prevent blur in still images and moving video. Also, the business made efforts to shrink the module’s footprint in the hopes of eliminating the dreaded “camera bump”

The Galaxy S24 is probably more than a year away, but the Galaxy S23 series is already here and ready to take on the world. There have been rumblings that Samsung’s next S23 Ultra model smartphone might have a better camera than its predecessor. It has been speculated that the primary camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be 200 megapixels, with the remainder of the camera array remaining unchanged from the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The Samsung Unpacked event, expected to take place in early February, stands directly in our path. We should expect to hear more about Samsung’s 2023 flagship phone launch during this event, which all signs point to being held in San Francisco, California.
