More information about the OnePlus 11’s features and appearance is now available

The OnePlus 11 is planned to make its official debut in China on January 4, with a worldwide launch event set for February 7. By now, though, we have learned almost all there is to know about the phone from both official and unauthorised sources.

Starting with the official announcement, the OnePlus Weibo page keeps dropping hints about the next phone, including the existence of a “Bionic Motor” system for superior haptics and a “Picture Quality Engine” to increase the display’s frame rate.

OnePlus has also confirmed a 5,000 mAh battery and 100W fast charging, so that’s good to know. OnePlus has also been promoting a twin port charger featuring USB TypeA and Type-C connectors, which may suggest that there would be no included charger.

Measurements and layout

When it comes to the leaks and speculations that aren’t officially sanctioned, it’s hard to keep up. There is a 6.7-inch, 120 Hz AMOLED screen with a 3126 x 1440 pixel resolution, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU powering the whole thing, according to a regulatory filing in China.

There will be either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and either 256GB or 512GB of storage space. There will likely be a 50MP, 48MP, and 32MP triple-lens system with 2x optical zoom for the back camera. According to the specs, the front-facing camera is a 16-megapixel unit with a single lens.

Promising early signs for 2023

The OnePlus 11 is expected to be the first flagship phone to be released this year, and early reports are positive. The device seems to have everything a consumer might want in a high-end smartphone in 2023, from high-quality cameras to a powerful CPU.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU is lurking behind the hood; this chip will be used in many high-end Android devices this year and will remain the industry standard for chip speed for quite some time.

The RAM and storage capacities are both rather high, and the back camera module seems to be quite capable, at least according to the specifications (and Hasselblad is once again involved). Similarly premium in tone is the display.

Of course, we can’t pass final judgement on a smartphone until we’ve used it, but everything we’ve heard so far suggests that the OnePlus 11 will be a success. It’s likely to be one of the greatest mobile devices released that year.
