In late 2023, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will launch on the PS5

Sony has confirmed that the release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be late in the year.

Sony announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 to launch in “Fall 2023” in a blog post showcasing some of the most anticipated PlayStation releases for 2019. (so likely between September and November).

After the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Peter Parker and Miles Morales return in the next action-packed instalment of the Marvel’s Spider-Man series. There is still a lot we don’t know about the game, but if it’s anything like the last two, we’re in for a great new take on the Spider-Man franchise.

Fans have been on the edge of their seats for four years, ever since Insomniac Games launched the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spiderman, with no sequel in sight, but the release of the spin-off game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales in 2020 did help to satisfy our need for web-slinging action.

While we still don’t know when we’ll be able to web-swing our way around the streets of New York, we do have a better notion of when the highly anticipated sequel will be released.

Typical Events

Those anticipating the next Spider-Man film have a lot to look forward to. Details were presented in the reveal video (opens in new tab) shown at the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021.

The unexpected arrival at the end is arguably the most intriguing portion of the trailer. And that’s when the notorious Spider-Man antagonist Venom makes his debut. It appears that this symbiote from outer space will be one of the primary antagonists that Peter and Miles will face in the next sequel.

Towards the end of the trailer, we hear another foreboding voice. Let’s hope this means we’ll be getting two bad guys for the price of one. Even though we don’t know for sure who it is, we’re putting our money on Kraven the Hunter.

Not much is known about Spider-Man 2 beyond the fact that it will be a PS5 exclusive, passing over the PS4 and PS4 Pro.

It appears like PlayStation players may be forced to replace their console in 2023 if they want to play the most recent games. Time was running out on my PS4 Pro, and I knew it.
