The Qantas App has been upgraded with several exciting new features aimed at improving the passenger experience.

Monitor Call Wait Times

One handy new addition is the ability to see expected wait times when contacting Qantas customer service through the ‘Click to Call’ option. You can access this feature via the Help icon at the top left of the app’s home screen. It provides an estimate of wait times, helping you plan your call to the contact center more effectively.

Track Your Inbound Flight

Another notable new feature is Inbound Flight Tracking, which gives passengers detailed information about their upcoming flights, including the status of the inbound aircraft scheduled to operate their journey. It’s available for both international and domestic routes.

To use this feature, simply tap the “Inbound Aircraft Location” button in the Flight Details section of the app. This will take you to a page showing scheduled and estimated arrival times, along with a visual line indicating the plane’s current progress.

If you’re tracking someone else’s flight, you can easily find out when they’ll arrive at the airport. Just go to “Trips,” then “View Flight Status,” and search for their flight number or route to get real-time updates.

Scan Your Passport for International Check-Ins

The app now includes a Passport Scan feature for international check-ins, making the process quicker and more convenient. This new addition allows you to scan your passport directly through the app, saving time and streamlining your check-in experience.

Easier Booking for Reward Seats

Qantas has also improved its booking process, making it easier to book reward seats like Classic Flight Rewards. The Points Plus Pay option has been moved from the search engine to the payment screen, simplifying the search for the best value reward seats. Classic reward seats are now marked with a red ribbon, Classic Plus seats with a blue ribbon, and the lowest available points fare is always shown when you search or book.
