Leaked: Red Dead Redemption PC Port Spotted on PlayStation Store

Red Dead Redemption may be making its debut on PC, despite no official word from Rockstar Games. The unexpected leak comes from the PlayStation Store.

The recent update to the PS4 version’s description on multiple regional PlayStation Network (PSN) storefronts includes details about a PC port. This might be a mix-up, potentially linked to a current-gen version, or it could be a hint at something bigger.

The updated description teases several enhancements for the PC version over the PS4 and Switch ports. Expected upgrades include higher resolutions, improved framerates, and spatial surround sound. Here’s a peek at the description:

“Experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation — now on PC for the first time ever.

“When federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw John Marston is forced to track down his old gang. Journey through the American West and Mexico as Marston seeks to leave his dark past behind in this critically acclaimed predecessor to the 2018 hit, Red Dead Redemption 2. The package also includes ‘Undead Nightmare,’ transforming the Red Dead world into a zombie apocalypse.

“Featuring the complete single-player experiences of both games, including bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition, the PC version promises all the upgrades from the 2023 console releases plus additional PC-specific enhancements. Expect support for higher resolutions and framerates, multiple displays, and advanced spatial surround sound.”

Given Rockstar’s history of impressive PC ports, like those of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, this leak raises expectations.

Last year’s Switch version, reviewed by Steven and rated 7.5/10, was described as: “The Switch port of Red Dead Redemption remains faithful to the original while fitting well with the Switch’s capabilities. It performs well in both handheld and docked modes, though some elements feel dated. Despite this, exploring the old west with John Marston continues to be a fun experience.”

As of now, Rockstar has not confirmed this PC port, so stay tuned for any official updates or announcements.
