Over the last several years, Netflix has improved upon a one-click approach that selects something for you based on your preferences and begins playing it right away. Shuffle was the first name used for the function, but it eventually settled on Play Something.
Simply state ‘Alexa, Play Something,’ in the United States or Canada, and if you have an Echo speaker or app listening for it with a Fire TV device with Netflix activated, that’s what will happen.
Assuming you’ve already decided to live with a voice-controlled assistant, it may be useful to skip over the argument or scroll through rows of titles at the beginning of each movie night. Despite Netflix and its Prime Video service clashing with its own product, only Amazon has the Play Something command linked currently, according to promotional materials.
