Google’s birthday is today! Here’s what you never knew about the search engine.

Today’s Google Doodle: Monday is Google’s 23rd birthday. To commemorate the occasion, Google created a doodle on its homepage.

Google’s roots date back to 1997, when it was founded as a corporation on September 27, 1998. Google is the most widely used search engine in the world, having been co-founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page.

In 1997, Sergey Brin was sent to show Larry Page around campus as a graduate student at Stanford University.

Google’s stated goal of making the world’s information accessible to everyone, however, has not changed.
