Google TV is getting personalized profiles and watchlists soon

Previously, Google TV allowed you to use services with more than one account by signing into multiple Google Accounts. However, content recommendations, the watchlist feature, and Google Assistant functionality were all based on the activity of the primary account holder.

According to The Verge, Google will begin providing Profiles to Chromecast users in April on Google TV and Google TVs from TCL and Sony. To simplify things, Google said that any downloaded applications and passwords may be used across multiple profiles.

Google is testing “glanceable cards” in ambient mode now. Google will provide ‘glanceable cards’ on ambient mode when profiles are released next month. An idle TV can show personalized information like as weather, news, and sports statistics when that support becomes available.

Following the announcement that Google TV has added support for Philo in its live TV tab, several new features have been discovered. An updated ambient mode, expanded support for the virtual Google TV remote – for when the sofa devours your streaming wand – comes after news this week that Google TV now supports Philo in its live TV section.
