A Peek Inside SynthID-Text’s Design

Researchers explored two approaches: a “distortionary” method, which slightly tweaks the quality of AI output, and a “non-distortionary” method, which keeps text quality unchanged. Tests on over 20 million interactions with Google’s Gemini model showed that both methods effectively marked text, making it easier to recognize as AI-generated.
