Google Chrome will soon become less resource- and memory-intensive

Despite your preference for Chrome, it is well-known that it is a resource-intensive program. However, a new version from Google will include two optimization measures, so the issue will soon be resolved.

Google has revealed new features for Chrome on desktops that will save both battery life and memory. The business claims that the new performance options will be accessible to everyone on Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS within the next few weeks.

The technology company claims that by using memory saving mode, web browsing would need 30% less RAM than usual. With this function, you can ensure that your browser tabs continue to function normally. According to Google’s description, enabling a memory saver will free up memory from the tabs you aren’t currently working in. When you return to a tab that has been idle, its content is refreshed.

A computer’s battery-saving function, in contrast to its memory-saver counterpart, does not activate until the battery level drops below 20%. When the percentage reaches 20%, the option begins restricting elements like background activity and visual effects for animated and video-rich websites.

Users may disable both features at once if they want a more traditional Chrome experience. You may also choose which websites should not be affected by the memory saving function.

By selecting the three dots in the Chrome menu, you may access the settings if they have previously been downloaded to your browser.
