The new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro M2 chip variants have been a long time coming, but they may finally be available for purchase from Apple today.
Yesterday, MacBook Pro model has appeared in a database in Europe or Asia. The report states that on Saturday, January11,2022, the new model (with the identification number A2779) was added to the database.
Since new Apple goods have a history of being revealed soon after being added to the database, yesterday’s addition might mean that the company will soon be announcing new models. After all, the newest MacBooks Pro have been available since 2021, so this announcement has been in the works for some time.

Wi-Fi 6E, which “extends Wi-Fi to the 6GHz band for greater bandwidth, quicker speeds, and reduced latency,” is touted as a feature of the next model. Both the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros in the latest generation only support the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands.
The debut of the new MacBook Pro models is said to be close and might be unveiled as soon as today, according to various sources, including leaker Jon Prosser and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The new MacBook Pros are imminent (Apple does have an announcement tomorrow – with press briefings later this week and embargoes lifting next Monday). The new Macs arriving early this year first reported here in October https://t.co/P34OdoMRgZ https://t.co/9JlQ0ueBO1January 16, 2023
Gurman states categorically that the new MacBook Pro will be unveiled through a press release rather than an event of any type. The writer claims that Apple is gearing up for press briefings later this week, with embargoes expected to expire early next week.
Besides the apparent update to the newest generation of CPUs like the M2 Pro and M2 Ultra, we aren’t expecting much with the new MacBook Pro models this year. Exciting features like a touchscreen display and a transition to an OLED or microLED panel are not anticipated with this version.
