Instagram Recap 2022: An Easy-to-Customize Reels Template

To compete with other popular applications like Spotify and BeReal, which let users to look back on the material they watched and created over the year, Instagram on Monday released a 2022 recap feature on Reels.

The Reels design, which can be customised by users to showcase up to 14 photographs and videos from the year, is being rolled out on the social networking site. You may pick a narrated audio track by Bad Bunny, DJ Khaled, Badshah, or Priah Ferguson from Stranger Things to accompany your collage. Among the supported languages are English, Spanish, and Hindi, as confirmed by Meta’s representative, Alexandra Terry.

Now until the end of the year, the “Create your own recap reel” button will be at the very top of your stream, allowing you to make a customised highlight film of your own 2022 experience. If you haven’t seen a notification yet, you may start making your 2022 summary reel by checking out the available templates in the Reels section.

Terry claims the template will be accessible for many weeks into 2023.

Instagram released a year-in-review tool that allows users to showcase up to ten stories to their followers last December.

After Spotify’s end-of-year listening statistics offering, Spotify Wrapped, became popular, other applications have attempted to capitalise on the same trend by offering similarly curated and shareable data. BeReal, a popular social networking platform for teenagers in Generation Z, released its BeReal Recap video last week.
