Silent Hill 2 remake developer is working on a new survival horror game

The Polish studio Bloober Team has joined forces with the independent publisher Private Division to create a new terrifying game.

A recent press release states that Bloober Team, the developers of The Medium, are working on a “upcoming unknown new survival horror IP” for Private Division, the publisher of games like Hades and The Outer Worlds. The press statement states that even though “not projected to debut before calendar2025,” the game is still in development and will feature a new horror IP.

In a press statement announcing the collaboration, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno remarked, “Our next project is an intriguing new survival-horror game, which will help us become a leader in the horror business at large.”

There’s something evil on the horizon

As Bloober Team is now busy on the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake and the next episode in its Layers of Fear series, it is understandable that this fresh new project may take a backseat for the time being.

It’s also not shocking that Bloober Team’s upcoming game would continue in the same style as its previous releases; the studio has established itself as a go-to for scary titles, even though some have taken issue with the way it handles psychological themes.

If 2023’s Silent Hill 2 remake does well, this undisclosed survival horror IP might be the studio’s crowning achievement. We don’t know when or what this new Bloober Team game will entail, but we do know that it will be a long before we can get our hands on it.
