The latest version of Google’s web browser is Chrome 78 and is now implemented on Android devices. Previously, the latest version of Chrome was available for other platforms, including Windows, Linux, macOS, and iOS.
Chrome 78 brings updates and bug fixes, but the most important new feature is the dark mode. You can easily turn it on by tapping the menu icon and tapping Settings> Themes. Once there, you can choose from three options: Default System, Light and Dark.
“Default system” will automatically switch Chrome to dark mode if dark mode is enabled for the entire Android 10 system or if your device is in battery saving mode. At any other time, Chrome will be in the usual Light mode.
You can see how the dark mode of Chrome 78 appears in the image at the top of this article.
In addition to the new dark mode, the latest version of the browser presents the usual improvements in terms of stability and performance.
In related news, if you’re using Chrome on a computer and running the latest version, you can now send Chrome’s desktop version phone numbers to your Android device.
Simply select a phone number on your desktop, right-click and select the device to which you want to send it. You can then touch a notification on your Android phone and call that number. You can find more information about this feature here.
Chrome 78 is now implemented through the Google Play Store. However, it can take a few days or even weeks for everyone, so be calm if you do not see it immediately.
