The iPhone has changed the smartphone industry forever, killing all companies that could not turn. The world’s largest phone brands at that time, such as Nokia, Palm, Microsoft and RIM / BlackBerry all had to throw in the towel.
Only Google was fast enough to move Android from an alternative BlackBerry to an iPhone competitor, and some of the previous smartphone vendors have succeeded. Samsung and Huawei are just like OnePlus two successful examples of Android.
But none of them, especially Google, could offer a real “killer iPhone,” a device that will revolutionize the mobile industry once again.
It turns out that Apple may be working on a device that could mean the end of the iPhone as we know it in the future, and that the first generation device could be commercialized by 2020.
Apple is expected to launch a range of new products next year, and the iPhone is expected to receive the biggest update since iPhone X 2017. In addition to a new design and a new 5G connectivity, the iPhone 12 was supposed to get a processor more robust and one-to-one 3D camera that would enhance augmented reality (AR) applications,
People need better AR applications, not just for iOS devices, but for a product that could make even better use of the technology: the Apple AR glasses.
The first generation model could be launched next year with holographic screens placed in the lenses. The glasses are synchronized with the iPhone and display text, emails, maps and even games in the user’s field of view to allow a mixed reality. You could also come up with your own version of the App Store, such as the Apple TV or the Apple Watch, notes the report.
It will be interesting here. Apple would hire graphics design and game development experts to turn the anti-glare glasses into a new product category.
It’s no exaggeration to imagine that Apple can use technological breakthroughs to turn glasses into an iPhone-like device that can do almost anything the iPhone can.
The problem so far is that Apple does not seem to have suggested any applications that would make these glasses an indispensable purchase. This means that it will take some time for this product to become a stand-alone device that does not need to be connected to the iPhone.
In addition, the introduction of the product could be delayed if the decision makers decided that Apple needs more time.
Bloomberg notes that other technology companies are also working on their own anti-reflection glasses. Facebook makes similar devices as Snap Spectacles, which can take pictures and transfer calls.
Amazon has tested the Alexa Frames glasses and the Echo Loop Ring to control them.
Other reports also indicated that Apple’s first generation AR glasses could make their debut in 2020 when developers discovered a new AR eyewear icon in an internal iOS version.
