All of this lets us create an amazing track driving experience while keeping things fun for the road too.”

The Fastest McLaren Ever

Performance enthusiasts are in for a treat because the W1 is now the fastest McLaren ever built. It’s even quicker than McLaren’s streamlined Speedtail when accelerating to 300 km/h, and it can outpace the track-honed Senna around a circuit. The numbers speak for themselves: 0-100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 5.8 seconds, and an impressive 0-300 km/h in only 12.7 seconds. The top speed? It’s limited to 350 km/h.

What’s in a Name?

The name “W1” might sound familiar if you’re into Australian cars—HSV used the name for their final Commodore special, the GTSR W1. But McLaren’s use of “W1” isn’t inspired by Holden. It continues the lineage of the F1 and P1 and represents McLaren’s “World Championship mindset.” The timing of the W1 reveal reflects this attitude, paying homage to a defining moment in McLaren’s racing history.
