Windows 10 Version 20H2 Closes Out 2020 with 13.6 Percent Share

The latest version of Windows 10, 20H2, has jumped 5 percentage points to 13.6 percent usage share in the final month of 2020. That’s according to the latest report from AdDuplex.

“[Windows 10 version 20H2] adds close to another 5 percent to its market share and is on 13.6 percent of Windows 10 PCs as of the end of December,” AdDuplex explains in the report, which is based on a survey of almost 80,000 Windows 10 PCs.

Windows 10 version 20H2, a very minor cumulative update that’s masquerading as a true feature update, appears to have gotten off to a good—meaning uneventful—start, unlike most recent Windows 10 version updates. It first hit the charts upon its release in October with 1.7 percent usage share among Windows 10 PCs. And then it hit 9 percent in November.

“Windows 10 20H2 grew a bit slower in December than it did in November,” AdDuplex said. “We will see if it picks up the pace after the holidays.”

For December, Windows 10 version 20H2 notches 13.6 percent usage share, making it the third most-used Windows version after version 2004, with 40.4 percent usage, and 1909, with 33.2 percent. All of the Windows 10 versions in the top three saw decent usage gains this past month, actually.
