Perhaps the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is more affordable than we initially believed

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 smartphones are set to debut in under two weeks, but the line’s price may have already been leaked.

The Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra will sell for $799.99, $999.99, and $1,199.99 in the United States, according to leaked Verizon papers released on Reddit. Those numbers are a match for what the Samsung Galaxy S22 series originally cost at retail.

We’re quietly confident that the new smartphones won’t cost more than their predecessors – at least in the US – and will be able to confirm the accuracy of those numbers when the Galaxy S23 lineup is officially unveiled during Samsung Unpacked 2023 (10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on February 1, or 5am AEDT on February 2 in Australia).

If you’re interested in purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S23 but have been put off by speculations of price rises for Samsung’s flagship series, the leak from Verizon should calm your fears. In recent weeks, papers suggesting high costs for the Galaxy S23 in South Korea and Australia have emerged online, causing many (including us) to speculate that these premium prices might also appear in the United States and United Kingdom.

But such estimates were based on shaky currency conversions, and official carrier documentation are generally more dependable than Twitter leaks and pundit guesswork. On February 1st, however, we will have definitive information.

The pricing confirmation is merely the beginning

These leaked Verizon docs seem to validate prior speculations about the features and release date of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series in the United States.

The paper claims that all three Galaxy S23 versions will ship with at least 8GB of RAM, with the base model offering 128GB of storage, the S23 Plus offering 256GB, and the Ultra offering 512GB. The 256GB form of the base S23 will be available, while the 512GB variation will be an option for its more expensive siblings (the larger variant of the Ultra will also sport 12GB of RAM).

Furthermore, Verizon claims to have verified the release date of February 17 for all three models. There is still time to reserve one of Samsung’s new models on the company’s website, and doing so will earn you a $50 shop credit.
